We are holding our Halloween Party, FRIDAY 30th, which promises to be lots of Fun for all the family! A glorious sunny day greeted some enthusiastic golfers for the annual Marine Park Golf Day held at Rhuddlan Golf Club on Saturday 12th September.

Nerves got the better of most players and drives off the first tee were met with a few sniggers… several balls heading for the trees on the left, or the rough and 2nd fairway on the right!…one in fact didn’t make it off the tee (oh how we laughed…!!) However it was all good fun with the usual jibes and friendly insults to keep us going!

Some four and a half hours later we were all back in the clubhouse with memories of some great holes and some not so great holes! Mike Ireland had a 13 on the first, although he had the last laugh as he ended up nearest the pin on the fourth, winning the prize for that..!

The 16th was the hole for the longest drive award and with most of us trying to smash the ball out of sight nothing was staying on the fairway. Up to the tee stepped Jimmy O’Brien who launched a cracking drive to win the prize…the fact that his next shot soared into the trees on the right was immaterial as glory was his…well done Jimmy!

The overall winner was Chris Murfin who played a steady game all the way round amassing a total of 33 points to win the Marine Golf Cup for 2009. Well done Chris!!

Mention too to Len Santos and Tony Green who both scored a very creditable 27 points.

Thanks to all who took part and here’s to next year’ competition which I’m sure will be one not to miss!!

The ‘Garden Plot of the Year’ competition 2009 was a huge success! We had over 30 participants, and even the sun came out to join us! We warmly thank all who entered and for the great effort you placed into your gardens for this year’s competition. The event was enjoyed by all who entered, and the judges were very impressed with the general high standard of entrees for this year, which has made our park look outstanding this summer.

Third Place was awareded to Mr and Mrs Williams of 14MFC

Garden Competition – August 1st – 2nd

It is almost that time of year again for our Garden Competition. We had a great response last year, so we are pleased to announce that we will be holding the
“Garden Plot of the Year” competition once again!

Entry is available free to all owners and independent judging will take place.

There are great prizes to be won

First Prize – 2010 site fees
Second Prize – 50% 2010 site fees
Third Prize – 25% 2010 site fees

Marine Holiday Park have recently been reviewed for the Shropshire Star Newspaper by one of their journalists, who decided to take a fresh take on reporting this time!

As we are a family run holiday park, he decided to bring along his family too to see if our motto is right… “Family run with other families in mind” – and what a great time they had! They were absolutely delighted with the Park and accommodation and cannot wait to come again next year!
